Interactivity!

Interactive teaching and learning through the Kaplan University Writing Center includes:

Live Tutoring: Live tutors are available from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET Sunday through Tuesday. Live tutoring is a great way for students to get help with brainstorming, developing thesis statements, and ask questions about APA format. They should come to the session with a working topic, thesis, or specific questions on APA. They should also have their assignment open for reference.

Student Workshops: Each month we feature several popular workshops, such as All About APA, Major Writing Errors and How to Avoid Them, and Integrating Research Sources. We also offer a variety of other workshops on specialized topics, such as Thesis and Essay Development and the Basics of Business Communication to name only two. Each month our schedule is growing, so please check out the new schedule when it comes to you in your inbox and post it in Doc Sharing for your students!

Faculty Workshops: We offer faculty workshops on ELL and ESL, defining college-level writing, and understanding the Writing Across the Curriculum initiative. We are also developing specialized workshops for individual schools and departments.

Q&A: Students who have a quick question and cannot meet with a live tutor can drop off a question in the Q&A queue. While we provide answers to their question, we also help them locate the information for themselves, such as through our Reference Library.
